Lineas appoints Manfred Burk as Country Manager of Germany to strengthen its position in a key European market
Brussels, May 7 2026 – Lineas announces the appointment of Manfred Burk as Country Manager of Germany, effective June 2026. This strategic hire supports Lineas’ ambition to become the most reliable rail freight operator in Europe and to further strengthen its position in Germany, a core market at the heart of its growth strategy, with the objective of moving closer to the top 5 rail freight operators in the country by 2030.
Operating in a challenging rail freight environment, Lineas continues to differentiate itself through high-quality, reliable services. Germany plays a central role in this positioning, both as a major domestic market and as a key hub in Lineas’ international network, connecting industrial customers to the Belgian ports and to major European corridors towards France, Spain and Italy.
With more than 25 years of experience in logistics and rail operations, Manfred Burk brings a strong track record in operational excellence, process optimization and performance management. He spent over a decade at boxXpress.de, where he led rail operations in a complex and high-demand environment, contributing to the development of robust and reliable production systems. He previously held senior roles at Kuehne + Nagel, where he led large-scale transformation and standardization initiatives across European logistics operations.
In his new role, Manfred Burk will lead Lineas’ German operations, with a focus on strengthening reliability, enhancing service quality and supporting sustainable growth in the market.
