Lineas appoints Erik van Ockenburg as new Chief Executive Officer
Brussels, 8 April 2025 – Lineas, the largest private rail freight operator in continental Europe, announces the appointment of Erik van Ockenburg as CEO, effective May 1, 2025.

Erik van Ockenburg brings over 30 years of international experience in the industrial and transportation sectors as an executive and consultant, with a strong track record in transformation and performance improvement. Lineas will benefit from Erik’s solid and diversified experience to enable the company to continue its transformational program, showing significant improvements in 2023 and 2024. Erik will remain Chairman of the Board of SABCA.
Erik most recently served as CFO of ADB SAFEGATE where he successfully supported the company through a period of growth and transformation. He previously held executive positions at Sonaca Group and at McKinsey & Company, where he was partner responsible for serving the Benelux Transportation & Logistics sector.
Erik holds a Master in Econometrics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a Master in Financial Economics from Tilburg Institute of Academic Studies. He is fluent in English, Dutch, French, and German, main languages for Lineas operating from Belgium, France, Germany, and the Netherlands.
